BIC art
So, another artist on LJ wanted to see my examples of ballpoint pen art. These are old, but oh well. The three pieces were created with your average BIC pens. Not an easy task, since I like controlled strokes. I'm always impressed when I complete a decent BIC piece.


This is one of the first real images I completed with a BIC. My lines aren't too controlled, and I was just focused on rendering the image.


This piece is more controlled, but I didn't like the outcome. I was too scared to experiment with it, and it has some other flaws I'm not happy about. Oh well.


This is one of my last BIC pieces. More stylized, and it's still missing something. She's suppose to be r&b singer Mya. I created this piece when Mya was more popular. I believe she has a single out now though. Google her, and see if I did a good job capturing her image.

I'm glad you like the work. Most people who know who Mya is, recognize her immediately. Stay tuned for more art. I need to post more work in the future.

These are awesome. Funny how yours style is very different from mine. I like the one on top the most that's really an awesome picture. Though I think the lips aren'r really symmetrical it's still awesome. Maybe that's what gives it the expression. The others are cool as well, like illustrations almost. Did you do the fat lined with BIC as well? It's really cool. You really have a style of your own.

It's funny that you said that. I was an Illustration major in College/University:D I'm glad you like them. I have some recent pieces in this style, featuring animals. I need to scan those.

Yes, those flat bold lines were done with BICs as well. I can go through several pens on one piece. I buy them in bulk here in the states. They're cheaper that way.

I'm certainly looking forward to viewing more of your work. I'll have to add you to my friends list, so I don't miss your posts. You should add me on your end. I would love to see what you can do with a Prismacolor pencil. Grab a Burnt Ochre prismacolor, and amaze me:D I use the professional grade color pencils for all my figure study art now. I think they're wonderful! I sure as hell couldn't even come NEAR anything like any of those works...
